What is Egypt IoT & AI Challenge?

Egypt IoT & AI Challenge is a capacity building and pre-incubation program for Senior University Students, High School Students, and Startups that have innovative ideas in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and related fields.

Who can join us?

  • High Schools: High school students in 15 STEM schools across Egypt are eligible for this challenge.
  • Graduation Projects: For senior university students who are willing to complete their graduation project in IoT and AI.
  • Startups: For tech startups in teams or spectacular individuals that are already working or willing to work in the fields of IoT and AI.

What is the maximum number of team members?

You can participate individually or in a team with a maximum number of:
  • 10 for Graduation projects
  • 3 for High school students
  • Unlimited for Startups track

How much are the registration fees?

There are no fees for participation, it's free of charge.

What are the eligibility criteria to participate in the challenge?

All you need is to make sure that your idea must be related to IoT or AI field.

Who are the organizers?

Egypt IoT & AI Challenge is co-organized by the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology and The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE TEMS) in partnership with NTRA & ITIDA. The program unites the organizers and their respective partners' resources and experiences to avail of all the required materials, mentors, and expertise to the participating projects.

Who can access my data?

Only judges, mentors, and program organizers will have access to the data of participants. The data will be firmly secured from any unauthorized access.
Submitted data will be distributed within organizers' internal units and affiliates. The participants must declare that they have the absolute ownership of the submitted information for the Arab IoT&AI Challenge, and it is not subject to the conflict concerning intellectual and/or industrial property rights (trademarks, patents, copyrights, etc.).

How much equity will you get in my idea/startup?

We will not take any equity from your idea/startup.

What is the challenge season timeline?

The challenge is a long-term program that occurs in conjunction with the Egyptian annual Educational Year 2020/2021.

How can I qualify for the Regional Finals?

The Challenge winners will represent Egypt in the regional finals to compete with the other Arab Countries (UAE - Saudi Arabia - Tunisia - Jordan - Oman - Palestine).
